‘Red One’ Trailer: Dwayne Johnson And Chris Evans Try To Save Santa In Holiday Action-Comedy

“Our movie is a big, fun, action-packed, and fresh new take on Christmas. Think JUMANJI meets MIRACLE ON 34TH ST meets HOBBS & SHAW with a dash of HARRY POTTER and sprinkled on top with my all-time favorite Christmas movie, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE…”

Well damn! That movie sounds awesome! What is it? Well, those words are from Dwayne Johnson and he’s talking about his upcoming holiday action-comedy, Red One, which he stars in alongside Chris Evans. Wow, so we’ve got Black Adam and Captain America together at the same time! How can this movie miss? Hopefully, nobody is paying attention to those stories about Johnson’s alleged misbehavior on set?

Seriously, the new trailer for Red One does look like a blast and a lot like he described. Or like a faster-paced Santa with Muscles. The story takes place after Santa Claus (played by JK Simmons!) is kidnapped, and Johnson plays the North Pole’s head of security who must track him down with the help of the world’s best bounty hunter, played by Evans.

The film is directed by Jake Kasdan, who worked with Johnson on two Jumanji films. On the screenplay are Johnson’s Hobbs & Shaw writer Chris Morgan alongside Hiram Garcia, husband of Johnson’s producing partner Dany Garcia. Basically, this is a project designed for Johnson to knock out of the park.

Also in the cast are Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, and Wesley Kimmel.

Amazon MGM will open Red One in theaters on November 15th.
