Pom Klementieff And James Gunn Have Talked About “One Specific Character” For Her In The DCU

It shouldn’t need to be spelled out, but you could always count on James Gunn recruiting familiar faces to be part of the new DCU. Gunn loves working with his friends, and has done so with Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, and others multiple times. Following three beloved Guardians of the Galaxy movies, it’s no shock to learn that Gunn is already talking to one of the actors about rejoining him. And no, it’s not Dave Bautista. Not yet, anyway.

It’s actually Pom Klementieff, who played Mantis in two ‘Guardians‘ movies and that awesome Holiday Special, confirming to fans at the San Antonio Superhero Comic-Con (via Agents of Fandom) that she has spoken to Gunn about playing “one specific character” in the new DCU. So Klementieff and Gunn are already narrowing it down, which makes it sound like a done deal.

“I just want to keep working with James, so we’re going to keep trying to find ways to do that,” said Klementieff. “Yes, we’ve been talking about one specific character, but I can’t talk about that right now.”

Klementieff has been keeping busy without Gunn, the MCU or the DCU at this point. Sure, she showed up in Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, but also in Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning. She’ll also reteam with Bautista for The Killer’s Game, opening this September.

But don’t expect her to reveal anything before the time is right. Klementieff could appear anywhere in the DCU totally by surprise. Maybe she’ll make a cameo in Superman? Or pop up in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow? Only time will tell. Gunn will probably confirm everything on social media, anyway.
