Cryptic ‘Smile 2’ Teaser Begins Horror Sequel’s Viral Marketing Campaign

Parker Finn made some waves earlier this week when it was learned that he’d be teaming with Robert Pattinson on a remake of cult horror classic Possession. But Finn first has a sequel to the film that put him on the map. Smile 2 is still months away, but the social media teases are already beginning with this new preview.

The footage is brief, but it features the sequel’s new character, pop star Skye Riley played by Aladdin actress Naomi Scott, and her new single “Blood in White Satin.” Designed like a music video, there are flashes of the nightmare that awaits.

Those who wish to delve further into the effed-up world of Smile can go to the Skye Riley Instagram account where there are more clues, including a release announcement for the single on June 18th. It’s likely that will be the date of the film’s first trailer.

Joining Scott in the cast are Kyle Gallner, reprising his role as Joel from the first movie, plus Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Dylan Gelula, Raúl Castillo, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.

Paramount and the makers of Smile killed it with the viral marketing last time, with the $17M film earning $200M more at the box office.

Smile 2 opens in theaters on October 18th.
