Emily Blunt Circles Steven Spielberg’s Summer Blockbuster Arriving In 2026

Steven Spielberg may have found the first star for his upcoming summer blockbuster arriving in 2026. Deadline reports Emily Blunt is in talks to join the untitled film from Universal Pictures and Amblin.

Blunt has starred in her share of blockbusters, including A Quiet Place, Edge of Tomorrow, and Oppenheimer, but this will be her first time working with Spielberg. Details on the film remain under wraps for now, but there will be a script by David Koepp, a frequent Spielberg collaborator. Some months back we heard Spielberg and Koepp were working on a UFO movie, so this could be that or something new.

Most recently, Blunt was seen opposite Ryan Gosling in The Fall Guy, a big studio action-comedy that underperformed at the box office. Reviews were strong, though, including for her performance.

Spielberg’s next movie opens on May 15th 2026.
