Jeffrey Wright Joins ‘The Last Of Us’ Season 2 As Isaac Dixon

Coming up with ways to improve on the critically acclaimed, fan-favorite first season of HBO’s The Last of Us must be pretty tough. But if there’s one surefire way to do it, it’s casting Oscar nominee and one of the best actors working today: Jeffrey Wright.

Deadline reports Jeffrey Wright has joined The Last of Us season 2 in the role of Isaac Dixon. In the video game, Isaac is the powerful leader of the Washington Liberation Front. Oh yeah, and he’s voiced by Wright, too, making this casting absolutely pitch-perfect.

It’s tough to complain about the ensemble being put together for season two. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return as Joel and Ellie, joined by Kaitlyn Dever, Isabel Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez, and Catherine O’Hara.

The second season promises to be very different from the first, and fans of the game sequel have to be curious how it’ll play out. Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann return as showrunners, joined by directors Peter Hoar, Kate Herron, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Mark Mylod, and Stephen Williams.

The Last of Us season 2 hasn’t been given a date yet, but expect HBO to premiere it next year.
