It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything about Now You See Me 3, the latest sequel to the magicians-turned-thieves franchise that has earned $687M globally. Ruben Fleischer (Venom) came aboard to direct a couple of years ago, joining the returning cast of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher Dave Franco and Mark Ruffalo. Now Deadline reports that Barbie breakout Ariana Greenblatt has joined the impressive ensemble, along with two other young stars on the rise.
Greenblatt, who also a role coming up in Borderlands and has played young Ahsoka Tano and young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, joins Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers) and Justice Smith (I Saw the TV Glow) as new additions to the cast confirmed by THR. Sounds like a potential youth movement, doesn’t it? Could the old guard of illusionists be passing the torch?
Eric Warren Singer, Seth Graham Smith and Mike Lesslie penned the script. Eisenberg recently expressed hope that filming could begin “in the next six months”, and if that holds, we could have Now You See Me 3 conjured into theaters in 2025.
