What better way for Disney and Lucasfilm to celebrate Star Wars Day than with the release of two new Star Wars series for Disney+? Both animated, they are Star Wars: Visions Vol. 2, and Young Jedi Adventures, with trailers released for them, as well.
Star Wars: Visions Vol. 2 is the second drop of animated short films set in a galaxy far far away. Each story is told from a variety of different animation studios from across the globe. El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman (United Kingdom), Studio Mir (South Korea) Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan, in collab with Lucasfilm), and Triggerfish (South Africa).
Young Jedi Adventures is clearly for the kiddies, the first full-length Star Wars series ever to do so, but it takes place in-canon about 200 years before The Skywalker Saga. Here’s the synopsis:
Set 200 years before “The Phantom Menace,” during the High Republic era, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” follows Jedi younglings as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way.
Jamaal Avery, Jr, Juliet Donenfeld, The Bad Batch‘s Dee Bradley Baker, Emma Berman, Jonathan Lipow, and Piotr Michael lead the voice cast.
Both Star Wars: Visions Vol. 2 and Young Jedi Adventures are available now on Disney+.
