‘Venom 3’ Adds ‘Ted Lasso’ Star Juno Temple In Lead Role

Before her Emmy-nominated role on Ted Lasso, Juno Temple already had a pretty busy big-screen career. So as that hit Apple series comes to a close, she’s already got work lined up. And it turns out her next major film role will be opposite Tom Hardy in Venom 3!

Deadline reports that Temple has landed a lead role in Venom 3. It’s unclear her role, but if she’s lead then it sounds like Michelle Williams, who played Eddie Brock’s former girlfriend Anne Weying, could be out. Or maybe there’ll be a symbiote love triangle?

The screenplay will be co-written by Hardy and Kelly Marcel, with the latter making her directorial debut. She takes over from previous director Andy Serkis, who is busy shooting an adaptation of Animal Farm. Marcel has been a writer on the franchise since the first movie in 2018, so she makes a solid choice for the third and reportedly final one.  The timing is probably right for Venom to end. 2021’s Let There Be Carnage sank like a stone at the box office, and suffered from poor reviews compared to its predecessor.
