‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ Trailer: Disney Returns To Neverland This Month On Disney+

It’s time to return to Neverland! We’re never too far away from another Peter Pan adaptation, and they all call themselves “reimaginings” of JM Barrie’s classic novel. Such is the case for Disney’s latest, Peter Pan & Wendy, which hits Disney+ later this month from acclaimed The Green Knight and Pete’s Dragon director, David Lowery.

The latest trailer for what Disney calls an “epic movie event” doesn’t seem to stretch too far beyond the story we all know. Wendy Darling, a London girl wise beyond her years, encounters Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up and journeys with him along with her little brothers to Neverland.

One of the big hooks, no pun intended, of the film is Jude Law’s performance as Captain Hook. Unlike some other Peter Pan adaptations this doesn’t appear to be an attempt to humanize the vile pirate, which is a good thing.

Starring Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling, Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, Jim Gaffigan as Smee, plus Joshua Pickering, Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker, Alyssa Wapanatahk, and Alan Tudyk, Peter Pan & Wendy hits Disney+ on April 28th.

“Peter Pan & Wendy” introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Never Land. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.
