HBO Orders ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel ‘The Hedge Knight’ To Series

Another Game of Thrones series is on the way, following the massive popularity of House of the Dragon. HBO has given a series order to prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Night, based on George RR Martin’s Dunk & Egg novellas.  This was one of the many spinoff shows previously reported on over the last few years.

Martin will act as writer and exec-producer alongside Ira Parker. House of the Dragon‘s writer Ryan Condal is a producer, as well.

Here’s a series synopsis: A century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

You can bet Warner Bros. Discovery will want this sooner rather than later to help launch the new Max streaming service. That said, it’s likely still a long way off.
