‘Dodgeball’ Sequel In The Works With Vince Vaughn Set To Return

Well, fans of 2004’s Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story have been begging for this to happen, and nearly two decades later their wish has come true. Deadline reports that Vince Vaughn will return for a Dodgeball sequel from 20th Century Studios.

The Binge screenwriter Jordan VanDina has been set to write the Dodgeball sequel, with Vaughn reprising his role as Average Joe’s Gym owner Pete LaFleur. As of now, nobody else from the cast is confirmed to return. The previous film also starred Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, Justin Long, Joel David Moore, Alan Tuydyk, Missi Pyle, Stephen Root, Jason Bateman, and Rip Torn. Rawson Marshall Thurber was director and also wrote the screenplay.

Dodgeball centered on a down-on-his-luck LaFleur who attempts to save his gym by entering a lucrative dodgeball contest with a lovable bunch of losers. To win, they’ll have to defeat the gym’s chief rival, the owner of a rival fancy gym who puts together a team of hard-bodied athletes.
