‘Blade’: Mia Goth Joins Mahershala Ali In Marvel’s Vampire Superhero Film

The best horror actress in the world, and maybe just the best actress period, Mia Goth, has signed up for the one Marvel movie she definitely should be in. Deadline reports Goth has joined Mahershala Ali in the upcoming Blade film, meaning we’ll get to see how she operates in the world of vampires. Sounds about right.

Of course, there are no details on Goth’s role, but if she’s not a bloodsucking creature of the night it’ll be a massive whiff on Marvel’s part.

Ali takes over the role made famous by Wesley Snipes in a trilogy of films beginning in 1998. A new film was announced to the world at SDCC 2019, but movement on it has been slow until recently. Yann Demange (White Boy Rick, ’71) is directing from a script by Michael Starrbury.

Goth was most recently seen reducing Alexander Skarsgard (who played a vampire in True Blood!) to tears in Infinity Pool. Last year she earned acclaim for her performances in Ti West’s horrors X and Pearl, with a third, titled MaXXXine, on the way.

Blade is scheduled to be released on September 6th, 2024.
