‘Twisters’: Daisy Edgar-Jones To Star In Upcoming ‘Twister’ Sequel

This is the way. Star with a couple of indie hits to their name makes the jump to big studio blockbusters. Such has been the case for Normal People actor Paul Mescal who is now leading Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel. And now Mescal’s co-star on that series, Daisy Edgar-Jones, is doing the same by joining Twisters, the upcoming sequel to Twister.

Deadline reports that Edgar-Jones is the first official casting on the new Twisters movie. Universal and Amblin are behind the follow-up to the 1996 hit that followed storm chasers’ pursuit of a deadly twister. That film was gigantic, earning $494M worldwide.

Edgar-Jones recently starred in Where the Crawdads Sing, but she’s also known for her role in Fresh, and her Golden Globe-nominated performance in Under the Banner of Heaven.

Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung (Menari), and more details are sure to follow soon.
