‘Please Don’t Feed The Children’: Destry Allyn Spielberg Sets Directorial Debut With Michelle Dockery To Star

We’re about to find out if filmmaking greatness runs in the Spielberg family. Destry Allyn Spielberg, daughter of The Fablemans director Steven Spielberg, has set up her feature debut with Please Don’t Feed the Children. Deadline reports that Downton Abbey‘s Michelle Dockery will star.

Described as an “elevated genre feature”, Please Don’t Feed the Children takes place “after a viral outbreak ravaged the country’s adult population, a group of orphans heads south in search of a new life, only to find themselves at the mercy of a deranged woman harboring a dangerous secret.” Paul Bertino penned the script.

Spielberg had been readying a different movie for her debut, Four Assassins (And a Funeral), which has a Black List screenplay by Ryan Hooper that is described as “Kingsman meets Knives Out meets Succession”, but that project isn’t ready yet and will have to wait.

If Spielberg looks familiar it’s because she’s been on the big screen recently as part of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza cast. As a director, her short film Let Me Go the Right Way played at Tribeca last year, and won awards on the festival circuit.
