Good news! Focus Features has announced that, after numerous delays, Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu has commenced production in Prague. Even better news! An already great cast for the vampire film just got better with the addition of Bullet Train star, Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Taylor-Johnson joins a cast led by Lilly Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgård, and Nicholas Hoult, with Emma Corrin, Willem Dafoe, Simon McBurney, and Ralph Ineson aboard, as well.
The newly-released synopsis describes the film this way: Robert Eggers’ NOSFERATU is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.
Eggers will write and direct Nosferatu, a longtime passion project reimagining F.W. Murnau’s 1922 classic adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Coming up for Taylor-Johnson is Spider-Man spinoff Kraven the Hunter, in which he plays the titular antihero. He will also rejoin Bullet Train director David Leitch’s remake of The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and Winston Duke.
