Travis Hopson’s 20 Best Movies Of 2022

Was this a down year for film? I don’t know, but that does seem to be the consensus as every critic who gives a damn posts their “Best of the Year” lists. I won’t quite jump on that bandwagon. Every year is a good year for movies if you know where to look. But what I will say is that I had no idea what my favorite film was until a month ago and that my list this year has more action movies and stuff geared exactly for me than is usually the case. How can that ever be called a down year?

As usual, this list comprises the films that had the biggest impact on me. You might’ve felt different. Hell, I’m sure you did and that you won’t hesitate to let me know how wrong I am. Just keep in mind that just because a film isn’t on my list it doesn’t mean I hated it.

Things will be done differently this year. Inspired by my good friend Nell Minow, there will be only one favorite and the rest are in random order. Enjoy! And do let me know what some of your favorites of 2022 were!
