‘Kaleidoscope’ Trailer: Giancarlo Esposito And Paz Vega Star In Netflix Heist Series That Plays Out In Random Order

With the loads of content Netflix has for subscribers it’d be easy to grow complacent. But one thing they’ve always been willing to do is try different ways for viewers to consume that content, such as interactive programming like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Netflix’s new heist series Kaleidoscope is going after the binge viewer by promising each a totally unique viewing experience.

Watching the new trailer for the 8-episode series doesn’t tell the full story. While it centers on a crew of thieves as they plot to pull off a heist worth $7B, the crime won’t play out the same way for everyone watching. Each episode occurs at a different point in time across 25 years, and those watching the series will be treated to a radically different episode viewing order. Yours might be linear, leading straight-ahead to the big crime. Or it could be non-linear and you might need to pay a bit more attention.

The series was created by Eric Garcia, who serves as writer and exec-producer alongside Ridley Scott. Starring in the series are Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Rosaline Elbay, Jai Courtney, Niousha Noor, Jordan Mendoza, Soojeong Son, and Hemky Madera. Russell Fine, Everardo Gout, Mairzee Almas, and legendary comedian Robert Townsend directing episodes.

Kaleidoscope hits Netflix on January 1st 2023.
