‘Significant Other’ Trailer: Maika Monroe And Jake Lacy’s Camping Trip Takes A Murderous Turn

Why does anybody do anything in the woods? Have people never watched a horror movie? Or a survival thriller? There are animals out there that’ll eat you. Demons that’ll haunt you. And in the case of the new Paramount+ film Significant Other, people might murder you.

Maika Monroe and Jake Lacy star as Ruth and Harry in Significant Other. The camping couple seems to be having a perfectly enjoyable backpacking trek in the Pacific Northwest, only for tensions to arise between the two. Later, when Ruthie is discovered bruised and cut by a couple of strangers, it begins to look as if she may have killed her partner. Or…did some kind of doppelganger do it? Questions!!!

The film is a reunion between Monroe and Villains writers/directors Dan Berk and Robert Olsen.

Significant Other hits Paramount+ on October 7th.

Significant Other follows a young couple (Maika Monroe & Jake Lacy) who take a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone.
