Marvel Confirms Lengthy ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Runtime

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a lot on its plate: the debut of Namor to the MCU, the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman and who will take over as the new Black Panther, exploring the underwater city of Talocan, and the wrapping up of Phase 4. With so much to do, it’s no surprise the film is clocking one of Marvel’s longest runtimes.

Marvel Studios has confirmed yesterday’s rumor of a 161-minute runtime for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. That makes it the second-longest MCU film behind Avengers: Endgame‘s 181-minutes. 2018’s Black Panther was considerably shorter at 134-minutes.

Two of the last three Marvel films have actually been pretty short, with Thor: Love & Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness clocking in at under two hours.

Upcoming toy releases have seemingly confirmed who the next Black Panther will be. I’m not going to link to those stories here. You can find them for yourself. But that’s just one of the major topics the sequel has to address. I’m not convinced that’s how things will actually be by the time the movie concludes as it just seems too easy.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever opens November 11th.
