Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’ Series To See The Return Of Ben Kingsley As Trevor Slattery

In unexpected Marvel news, Ben Kingsley is returning as Iron Man 3 villain and Shang-Chi comic relief Trevor Slattery. Perhaps the bigger surprise is where he’s showing up, as Variety reports it’ll be in the upcoming Wonder Man series on Disney+.

According to the report, Kingsley’s role in Wonder Man is said to be “major”, although it’s unclear the connection between Slattery and Simon Williams aka Wonder Woman. Perhaps it’s because both are actors? Slattery was the actor who impersonated international crimelord The Mandarin, only to be exposed, humiliated, imprisoned, released, then humiliated again before helping to defeat the real Mandarin.  Williams is both a Hollywood actor and famous superhero who was portrayed by Nathan Fillion in poster mock-ups for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The role of Wonder Man has yet to be cast, but it likely won’t be Fillion.

The Wonder Man series was announced back in June with Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton aboard. Considering he’s the one who picked-up on Slattery’s story, it only makes sense he’d be the one to move it forward. He’s also working on a Shang-Chi sequel, as well as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty which will be part of the finale to Phase 6 of the MCU.
