‘Scream 6’: Samara Weaving Reunites With ‘Ready Or Not’ Filmmakers In Horror Sequel

It’s safe to say that when it comes to true Scream Queens, Samara Weaving is one of the best. Having established herself with a breakout performance in Ready or Not, she’s since featured in Guns Akimbo, Mayhem, both The Babysitter films, and the series Ash vs. the Evil Dead. It’s only fitting that she take her place in Scream 6, reuniting with Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

Bloody Disgusting broke the news of Weaving joining the Scream 6 cast alongside returning Scream 5 stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jenna Ortega, and Mason Gooding. They’ll be joined be returning vets Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, and Hayden Panettiere as Scream 4‘s Kirby Reed.  Other newcomers to the serial killer franchise are Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda and Josh Segarra, Tony Revolori, and Dermot Mulroney.

Sadly, no Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, as the actress didn’t like the terms of the contract she was offered. That said, Weaving is the level of star who can come in and instantly be a centerpiece.

Scream 6 hits theaters on March 31st 2023.
