‘Madame Web’: Adam Scott Goes From ‘Severance’ To Sony’s Spider-Man Spinoff Film

Adam Scott has been pretty great for a long time, especially for us Party Down fans, but he’s really having a moment right now. Fresh off an Emmy nomination for the Apple TV+ series Severance, Scott is now attached for a role in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff, Madame Web.

Details on Scott’s role are, of course, under wraps. The project remains shrouded in mystery, with rumors surfacing that it might not even be a Madame Web film, but a cover for something else Spider-Man adjacent.

Scott joins star Dakota Johnson, who plays a character who in the comics is depicted as an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis. She’s attached to a life support system shaped like a spider web, and uses her psychic powers to manipulate events around Marvel’s various Spider characters. Also in the cast are Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts and Tahar Rahim

Madame Web hits theaters on July 7th 2023 with SJ Clarkson directing.
