‘Blue Beetle’: Sharon Stone Returns To DC Comics Movies To Play A Villain Once Again

Nearly two decades ago Sharon Stone starred in a DC Comics movie, playing a villain. That film was the infamous Catwoman starring Halle Berry. It was not great. Not even mediocre. That Stone is willing to return and play another baddie for a DC superhero says a lot about the upcoming Blue Beetle movie. Must be shaping up pretty good.

TheWrap reports Stone is in early talks to play Victoria Kord in the upcoming Blue Beetle movie starring Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle. She joins a cast that also includes Raoul Max Trujillo as Carapax the Indestructible Man, George Lopez as Uncle Rudy, Harvey Guillen in a mystery role, plus Adrianna Barraza, Bruna Marquezine, Damián Alcázar, Belissa Escobedo, and Elpidia Carrillo.

Stone is playing Victoria Kord, who is the villainous wife of original Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, which means his casting should be coming up soon, and that could be a big deal role. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another veteran, A-list actor take that one.

Blue Beetle opens in theaters on August 18th 2023, directed by Angel Manuel Soto.
