The Oscars Partners With Twitter For Fan-Favorite Film Award Selected Via Social Media

Were you one of those hoping Spider-Man: No Way Home would sneak its way into the Best Picture race? Well, the Oscars nominations didn’t go your way, but you can still help show Peter Parker(s) some love, thanks to the Academy and Twitter.

For this upcoming Academy Awards, a new category called the “Oscars Fan Favorite” award will be given out. Just hit up Twitter and this website, where you’ll be able to cast a vote to nominate any film or scene that you want to be the Fan Favorite. Also By nominating, you’ll also be entered into a sweepstakes to win a huge prize. What’s not to like about that?

This is clearly an attempt by the Academy to be more responsive to casual moviegoers who may not be as up on the prestigious awards season films, but certainly know Spider-Man: No Way Home, F9, or No Time to Die.

Or, and this is what I’m hoping, maybe we’ll see some love for Green Knight or Pig?

The Oscars Fan Favorite will be announced on March 27th during the Academy Awards telecast, which is a really smart idea if they want this to be taken seriously.
