‘Nope’ Trailer: Say Yes To Jordan Peele’s Creepy Sci-Fi/Horror Coming This Summer

With two critically-acclaimed horrors under his belt, Get Out and Us, Jordan Peele doesn’t need to tell us a damn thing about his latest. Nope is a film that we know basically nothing about other than the primary cast: Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun, and Barbie Ferreira. And I for one think keeping this level of secrecy is a good thing, and if you’re a filmmaker who can get away with it, you do it. Following a teaser from just a few days ago, the first trailer for Nope has arrived and Peele looks to have another iconic film on his hands.

From what we can grasp from the footage, Kaluuya and Palmer play cattle ranchers and horse handlers eager to employ their skills in Hollywood.  But before they can make it big, some kind of atmospheric entity arrives and begins spooking everyone and everything, suggesting some kind paranormal presence or maybe even extraterrestrials?

I think we’ve limited ourselves with Peele to think that he wouldn’t do anything sci-fi but he’s still the guy who hosted The Twilight Zone, am I right? A combination of sci-fi and horror could be what we’re in for.

Nope opens in theaters on July 22nd.
