Even though SXSW doesn’t kick off for another few months, the fest has already announced that Everything Everywhere All At Once will make its world premiere there as the Opening Night film. Why is this such a big deal? Because it’s the next feature from Daniels, the co-directing duo behind cult favorite Swiss Army Man.
Starring the great Michelle Yeoh, Everything Everywhere All At Once is weird, hopeful sci-fi of the sort we have come to expect from Daniels, who separately are filmmakers Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Also in the cast are Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., James Hong and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Here’s the synopsis: Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as Daniels, the film is a hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure about an exhausted Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who can’t seem to finish her taxes.
Everything Everywhere All At Once premieres at SXSW on March 11th, and will open in theaters two weeks later on March 25th.
