Donald Glover Heads To Europe In First Trailer For ‘Atlanta’ Season 3

After more than three years away, Atlanta is finally on its way back to FX. And unlike other shows that go away for such a long stretch, the absence has only made the heart grow fonder for the misadventures of Earn, Alfred, Van, and Darius. There are gigantic shoes to fill. Season two earned a whopping 14 Emmy nominations, the best ever for a comedy series.

It doesn’t hurt that the cast are bigger stars now than they were three years ago. Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz all return for a season that finds Earn, Alfred, and Darius traveling through Europe. Meanwhile, Earn and Van are still struggling to figure out what they are to one another.

COVID-19 was the cause of many of the show’s delays. It had been expected to arrive earlier this year. But you also have to factor in the busy schedules for everyone involved. I mean, Henry alone is in like seven movies a year. Fortunately, two seasons of Atlanta have been shot back-to-back, so there won’t be too long of a wait next time.

Atlanta returns to FX for a 10-episode season three on March 22nd.
