The world of The Witcher is growing fast, and who can blame Netflix for doing it? The numbers show that people love watching Henry Cavill slay monsters, and this weekend’s TUDUM event gave fans a lot to look forward to. Not only is there a new trailer for season 2, but clips offering some new footage, as well.
Oh yeah, and season 3? It’s officially happening.
Cavill returns as Geralt of Rivia, who at the end of season 1 finally hooked up with Princess Ciri (Freya Allen), as the two are connected to one another by destiny. That opens up a whole new avenue of exploration for the upcoming batch of episodes. Anya Chalotra and the rest of the regular cast are returning, as well.
The franchise is basically being overseen by showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who has already been involved with an animated prequel film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. A second animated movie is on the way, along with a series geared towards kids. A live-action prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, starring Michelle Yeoh and Sophia Brown is also in the works. Lots of Witcher to go around!
