Sci-Fi Comedy ‘Save Yourselves!’ Is Becoming A TV Series

This news makes me insanely happy. Last year I had the good fortune to attend the world premiere of Save Yourselves!, a terrific, hilarious sci-fi comedy about a couple who decide to break away from their gadgets for a trip into nature. And that’s exactly when aliens attack the earth, with the couple blissfully unaware. That film was one of the great surprises of Sundance for me, and now it’s becoming a television series.

Deadline reports a Save Yourselves! TV show is in the works from Universal TV and Keshet TV. The film was the brainchild of writing/directing duo Eleanor Wilson and Alex H. Fischer and starred GLOW actress Sunita Mani and Search Party‘s John Reynolds.

It’s unclear how involved Wilson and Fischer are, which leaves me to guess that it ain’t much. I’d be curious to see if Mani and Reynolds return, however, since they’re pretty well-established TV stars. Could be fun to pick up on some ideas the film laid down.

You can check out my review of Save Yourselves! here, and my interviews with the directors and stars here.
