Jesse Plemons Takes Lead Role In Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’

Leonardo DiCaprio Is Still On Board

A bit of a mixed bag with this news. While it’s great that Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon will now include Jesse Plemons as part of the cast, it comes at the cost of Plemons joining the upcoming horror film from Jordan Peele.

THR reports Plemons has joined Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone in Killers of the Flower Moon. The film is an adaptation of David Grann’s book about the murders of the wealthy Osage people in 1920s Oklahoma after the discovery of oil on their land.

Plemons, who worked with Scorsese on The Irishman, is taking the lead role while DiCaprio is in what passes for a villain.

Unfortunately, this means Plemons can’t be part of Jordan Peele’s horror movie which just recently cast Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya. The report says, “the hope was for Plemons to do both, but scheduling ultimately could not be worked out. Peele’s movie is to shoot early summer while Flower Moon shoots from May to late summer.”

At least this gives us a time frame for when we might expect both films, and it looks like it’ll be sometime in 2022.

Plemons is coming off a role in Judas and the Black Messiah, as well as Netflix’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things. He’s been a welcome part in pretty much everything he’s done, with stand out performances in Game Night, Other People, and more.
