Brie Larson To Star In Apple TV+ Series ‘Lessons In Chemistry’ From ‘Erin Brockovich’ Writer

Brie Larson has always found ways to juggle her Marvel commitments as Captain Marvel with other projects, and now we know she’ll be returning to the small screen which is where her career really began to take off. Variety reports Larson will star in and exec-produce Lessons in Chemistry, a series headed to Apple TV+.

Based on the upcoming novel by Bonnie Garmus, and penned by Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant, Lessons in Chemistry is set in the ’60s and follows Elizabeth Zott, who dreams of a career in science but is unable due to the misogyny of the period, as society believed a woman’s place was in the home. Later, when Elizabeth is pregnant, alone, and fired from her job, she starts a new career as a TV cooking show host, and uses her new platform to reach housewives and dads, all the while eyeing a return to science.

This will be Larson’s first TV commitment since her three seasons in The United States of Tara, a series that helped take her career to the next level.

Next up for Larson is suiting up for Captain Marvel 2, which opens in November 2022. Lessons in Chemistry is expected to begin after she’s finished with that.
