Chris Pine Rolls The Multisided Dice On ‘Dungeons & Dragons’

Well, if you’re looking for a guy to play the consummate hero, you need an actor with just the right chin. Chris Pine has that chin, which is why he gets to play Captain Kirk and Steve Trevor. And now Pine and his chin will be the hero of Paramount’s upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie.

THR reports that Pine will roll the multisided dice on Dungeons & Dragons, which is based on the classic tabletop game you and your nerd friends played growing up, and still play as adults. Get ready to watch Pine in a fantasy world of elves, orcs, humans, dragons, epic quests, and more.

The film is directed by comedy duo Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley, best known for Game Night and the Vacation reboot. Their involvement suggests this won’t be a straight adventure story, but something humorous where, perhaps, the characters from a D&D game enter our world? Or the players gets sucked into a real D&D quest? Whatever, it has to be better than the awful movie from 2000, right?

Dungeons & Dragons is to open on May 27th 2022. Pine will be seen next in something called Wonder Woman 1984.
