John Cena And Idris Elba Are Teaming Up For Action Flick ‘Heads Of State’

How good of a time did John Cena and Idris Elba have on The Suicide Squad? So good, they’ve decided to teamup for a Hobbs & Shaw-style action flick, titled Heads of State.

Cena and Elba pitched over Zoom the idea for Heads of State to a bunch of studios, and Amazon swooped in and copped it real quick. And who can blame them? While there aren’t any hard details, the film will be written by Harrison Query and is described by Deadline as “a ’90s style two-hander, a high octane premise that has a bit of ‘Air Force One‘ meets ‘Hobbs and Shaw‘”.

This makes all the sense in the world, honestly, and it’s good to see a movie come together because the stars like one another and have obvious chemistry. Cena has pretty much moved on past the WWE for good at this point. He and Elba are part of The Suicide Squad cast, with Cena also leading a Peacemaker spinoff, and are both part of the Fast & Furious franchise. This continues their close association, possibly for the long haul if this proves to be a hit. Can’t wait to see who they get to direct this.
