‘Disclosure Day’ Trailer: Josh O’Connor Reveals The Truth To The World In Steven Spielberg’s UFO Blockbuster

Universal Pictures debuted a new trailer for Steven Spielberg’s anticipated sci-fi summer blockbuster, Disclosure Day. The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, and Eve Hewson, with a script by Jurassic Park writer David Koepp.

Spielberg’s history with sci-fi, particularly about the arrival of extraterrestrials, goes way back with such films as Close Encounters of the Third KindE.T., and War of the Worlds. It’s not the aliens that are the scary part, though, it’s the extreme reaction by humanity who either want to contain or exploit the situation.

Here’s the synopsis: If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to…Disclosure Day.

“The truth belongs to seven billion people” is a pretty cool tagline, and paints O’Connor’s character as an Edward Snowden-like figure telling the world what the government doesn’t want them to know.

Disclosure Day hits theaters on June 12th.
