Christian Bale loves working with Scott Cooper. He’s starred in three films for the director already: Out of the Furnace, The Pale Blue Eye, and my favorite, Hostiles. According to World of Reel, the duo are set to reunite on a fourth project, a remake of Laurent Cantet’s acclaimed 2001 film, Time Out.
Cantet is probably best known for his 2008 Palme d’Or winner, The Class, but Time Out is pretty damn great, too. The story centers on a man who is fired from his longtime job, and hides this fact from his family until his life begins to spiral out of control.
Shooting could begin next month in Vancouver.
According to the report, Cooper and Bale have other collaborations lined up. Cooper’s other upcoming projects include a Roswell sci-fi thriller, and Comanche, a Western penned by Eric Roth and originally planned for Michael Mann to direct. Cooper’s latest film was Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere starring Jeremy Allen White.
