When will horror movie couples ever figure it out? Going away on a romantic getaway always ends in disaster. And that’s what happens to Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland in Keeper, the latest from horror maestro Osgood Perkins and his follow-up to Longlegs and The Monkey.
“Can I trust this man?”
“Can I trust this woman?”
Maslany and Sutherland play a couple on the brink, only to have their problems exacerbated by wickedness at the secluded cabin they’ve chosen for a romantic anniversary getaway. Again, those never work out well.
Keeper‘s true nature has been kept a secret since day one, and this trailer does give much away, either. From what we’ve been able to figure, it deals with fear of the people we are closest to. Fear of relationships, fear of falling in love, fear of falling out of love. There’s clearly a lot of crazy shit that Perkins has in store for us, and the less we know about this latest “dark trip”, the better. Bring it on!
SYNOPSIS: “Keeper” follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.
NEON will release Keeper in theaters on November 14th.
