‘Send Help’: Rachel McAdams Is Joining Sam Raimi’s Mysterious New Film

Although rumors persist that Sam Raimi will return to Marvel to direct another movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might’ve been a one-off. That said, he’s bringing someone from that movie back to star in his next film, Send Help, which remains something of a mystery.

Deadline reports that Rachel McAdams is in talks to join Sam Raimi’s film, Send Help. What’s it about? Well, that’s still up in the air, although it’s been described as a cross between Castaway and Misery, which sounds pretty cool.  The film has a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the duo behind Freddy vs. Jason and the Baywatch movie.

McAdams last starred in the critically acclaimed Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, but she has an extensive resume that includes Mean Girls, Game Night, Spotlight, Sherlock Holmes, and more. She can do pretty much anything, from comedy to serious drama, and even horror if you remember the film Red Eye.

Raimi has kept busy lately as a producer on such films as 65, Boy Kills World, and the upcoming thriller Don’t Move which hits Netflix this month.

Things are still pretty early for Send Help, but with McAdams aboard the casting could start to move quickly.
