A smile can be a beautiful thing. It can also be scary as Hell, and a pretty good marketing tool for a hit horror franchise. It certainly worked for Smile two years ago, as it became a huge $217M hit and established writer/director Parker Finn as a filmmaker to watch. While other opportunities have come his way, next on Finn’s list is Smile 2, hoping to match the blockbuster success of its predecessor.
The smart promo campaigns continue for Smile 2, which furthers the story of people cursed by an evil force that causes them to grin uncontrollably. As the curse spreads from person to person, the only way to get rid of it is to die, which can be a bit tricky. The sequel stars Naomi Scott as pop music superstar Skye Riley who experiences a series of supernatural events just as she’s set for a world tour.
Kyle Gallner returns from the previous film, joined by new additions Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Ray Nicholson, Dylan Gelula, and Raúl Castillo.
SYNOPSIS: About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.
