Darkness and Evil Descend on Middle Earth in the Trailer for ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 2

I did not understand the hate for The Rings of Power during it’s first season. Sure, whenever you’re dealing with a beloved property there are going to be people that are upset but the show itself was so much fun. Not just that but it LOOKED like every dollar they spent, simply beautiful. Today, coming out of Comic-Con we get a look at the first trailer for Season 2, and things are getting REAL real in Middle Earth.

Last season ended with the birth of Mordor and the somewhat surprising reveal of Sauron. From what we see in this 3m30s trailer for season 2, sunny days are not ahead. The titular Rings of Power have been distributed throughout the realm and it seems their power to divide and sow violence and misery is immediately apparent. One thing is for absolute certain, they did not cheap out on season 2. Cinematic is the only word you can use to describe the visuals contained within.

Official Synopsis:
Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season 1’s epic scope and ambition, Season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.
