Nicholas Galitzine Cast As He-Man In Live-Action ‘Masters Of The Universe’

It’s been a fast, meteoric rise for Nicholas Galitzine over the last few months. The Bottoms and Red, White, & Royal Blue actor who can be seen right now heating up the screen with Anne Hathaway in The Idea of You, has just landed his biggest role yet. Prime Video have announced that Galitzine will take over the role of He-Man in their upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.

Galitzine will play Prince Adam aka He-Man in the live-action Masters of the Universe movie directed by Travis Knight. This has been a project years in the making, with multiple studios, actors, and directors passing through. Most recently the film was set up at Netflix, but was canceled and then picked up by Amazon. Knight will direct from a script by  Chris Butler. David Callaham, Aaron Nee and Adam Nee wrote an earlier version back when the Nee brothers were going to direct.

Masters of the Universe is based on the popular Mattel action figure line and cartoon series from the 1980s. The story follows a young Prince Adam after he crash lands on Earth as he attempts to recover his lost magical Power Sword he’ll need to defend his home planet Eternia from the evil Skeletor. But to defeat his adversary and save Eternia, Prince Adam must become He-Man: the most legendary hero in the universe.

The film is currently set to open on June 5th 2026, exclusively in theaters.
