Straight-up revenge movies don’t come around that often anymore, which makes me very sad as someone who grew up on them and loves them. Fortunately, director Moritz Mohr has come to the rescue with Boy Kills World, an over-the-top action spectacle with loads of comedy and genre influences. Bill Skarsgard stars as the deaf-mute hero, Boy, whose family is massacred by the ruler of a totalitarian state. So what does he do? Train under the tutelage of a mysterious shaman and exact bloody vengeance, of course!
I was fortunate to talk with Moritz Mohr about his inspiration for Boy Kills World, and he rattled off a bunch of influences that will be familiar to fans like me. I also spoke with stars Andrew Koji and Isaiah Mustafa, who play Boy’s outrageously funny and violent colleagues Basho and Benny. Also, I had a chance to chat with the legendary Famke Janssen who plays deranged ruler Hilda Van Der Koy, and Brett Gelman As Gideon Van Der Koy, Hilda’s scheming younger brother.
Boy Kills World is in theaters now! Check out all of the interviews below!
