‘The Stuntman’: Matthew Vaughn’s Next ‘Kick-Ass’ Film Shooting Now With Damien Walters Directing

Matthew Vaughn has had a rough go of it with his last two films, Argylle and The King’s Man, but he doesn’t have time to worry about it. He’s got a new trilogy of Kick-Ass films already happening, and while we know the first one, titled School Fight, has already been show and even screened at London Action Film Festival in 2022, now we’ve learned the sequel is already shooting in England.

Variety reports the second film in Vaughn’s Kick-Ass reboot trilogy, titled The Stuntman, is filming now and directed by former stuntman Damien Walters. The film centers on two brothers who become stuntmen.  This could also be the mysterious “Vram” project that Vaughn has been teasing as the second part of a connected trilogy.

Walters also shot School Fight, which follows a teenager who fights with a rival over a shared romantic interest.

The third movie will be the official Kick-Ass reboot, which Vaughn is writing but has already confirmed he won’t direct. There’s a good chance Walters will take the helm of that one, too.

The Stuntman could debut in Toronto later this year, or possibly at Sundance 2020…which is where I hope it turns up.
