Every time I see a new film or series starring Brooklynn Prince, I’m transported to my conversation with her following an early screening of The Florida Project, her breakthrough role. At the time she was just getting started in acting, but knew then and there she wanted it to be her career. And she has done just that, starring in such films as Settlers, The Turning, and Cocaine Bear. Next for her is a coming-of-age drama, Little Wing, that teams her with Logan Roy himself, Brian Cox.
The film is based on Susan Orlean’s 2006 New Yorker article, and centers on a teen who tries to cure her mother’s financial problems by stealing a rare bird, only to become unexpected friends with its owner.
Along with Prince and Cox, the cast includes Yellowstone‘s Kelly Reilly, Che Tafari, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jeanine Jackson, and Simon Kahn.
Orlean co-wrote the screenplay with John Gatins, who worked with the film’s director Dean Israelite on 2017’s Power Rangers.
Here is the synopsis: LITTLE WING follows Kaitlyn, a teen who is reeling from her parents’ divorce and the pending loss of her home. She and her best friend hope to solve her mother’s financial woes by stealing a valuable bird, but Kaitlyn, instead, forms a bond with the owner that leads her to a new outlook on life.
Paramount+ will stream Little Wing exclusively beginning March 13th.
