‘Dawn Of The Jedi’: James Mangold To Explore Jedi Origin In New ‘Star Wars’ Film

Lucasfilm had been eager to work with James Mangold for years. Back in 2018, they finally seemed to be moving forward on a Boba Fett movie with him, but those plans were scuttled and that idea became something you might’ve heard of called The Mandalorian. While they eventually got their wish by having Mangold direct Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the two sides are finally making that Star Wars thing happen.

Announced this morning at Star Wars Celebration, Mangold will direct Dawn of the Jedi, a big-screen feature set 25,000 years in the past and centering on the origin of the Jedi Order.

This is the earliest time period ever explored by Star Wars, and will allow Mangold to chart some new territory.  More news on this one is sure to come.
