The poor box office of Shazam: Fury of the Gods only complicates our understanding of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. While Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are definitely out, other familiar faces such as Ezra Miller’s Flash, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and possibly Zachary Levi’s Shazam could be sticking around. But we haven’t heard anything about, arguably, the most popular portrayal of the old DCEU: Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. What does Gunn have in store for her?
While it’s looking good for Gunn’s The Suicide Squad players with John Cena returning as Peacemaker and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, it’s only now that we’ve got an update on Robbie. Answering a fan’s question over Twitter, Gunn replied “For Sure” when asked if he would be working with Robbie again.
For sure.

To be fair, Gunn doesn’t say that she’ll be going crazy as Harley Quinn again. He could be talking about some theoretical non-DC project in the distant future. He could have her return as a completely different character, similar to the rumor surrounding Jason Momoa. Or maybe it’s exactly what millions of Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey fans hope, which is that Robbie ain’t done as the twisted sister herself. Fingers crossed.
