‘Red Shirt’: Channing Tatum, David Leitch, & Simon Kinberg Spy Thriller Heads To Amazon

It’s been a successful year for Channing Tatum already, with The Lost City doing very well in theaters and his funny cameo in Bullet Train. That brief appearance in David Leitch’s action flick must’ve worked out well, because the two are teaming up again for spy thriller, Red Shirt, based on an original idea from The 355 director Simon Kinberg.

Deadline now reports that Red Shirt, one of the hottest packages going around Hollywood, has landed at Amazon Studios. Details on the film are still under wraps, but it’s described as an international spy thriller. Tatum will star, with Leitch directing. Tatum, Leitch, and Kinberg will also produce the film, along with Tatum’s creative partner Reid Carolin.

Tatum and Kinberg nearly worked together before when the latter was a writer and producer on Fox’s X-Men franchise, and Tatum was eyeing a Gambit movie.

The bidding war for this one was hot, too, with Netflix, Paramount, Universal, and Sony making multiple offers.

Coming up next for Tatum is Magic Mike’s Last Dance in February 2023.
