Jason Momoa isn’t just a busy-as-Hell actor with multiple franchises (Aquaman 2, Dune, Fast & Furious 10) and other major projects (Slumberland) coming up. But he’s found time to launch his own Apple TV+ series, Chief of War, that he’ll not only star in but write, as well.
According to Variety, Momoa will write and star in 8-episode historical series Chief of War for Apple TV+. And this one has a personal element for Momoa, who is of Hawaiian descent, with the series seen from the perspective of Hawaii’s indigenous population during its unification and colonization. Sounds interesting.
Joining Momoa on the scripts are Thomas Pa’a Sibbett (The Last Manhunt) with Doug Jung (Mindhunter) attached as showrunner. Interestingly, Blue Bayou director Justin Chon is in talks to helm the first two episodes.
Momoa is no stranger to Apple. His futuristic sci-fi series, See, is currently in its third season.
