‘Boss Level’ Trailer: It’s Frank Grillo vs. Mel Gibson In Joe Carnahan’s Time-Loop Action Flick

Another time-loop movie!?!?! Yes, and hey, you know I’m as sick of them as anybody even though filmmakers are doing some creative things to switch them up. And based on the trailer for action flick Boss Level, director Joe Carnahan is bringing some over-the-top B-movie flair, plus a potentially awesome showdown between Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson.

Grillo stars as ex-Special Forces officer Roy Pulver, who finds himself stuck in a time-loop that always ends in his gruesome death. Not that he cares, figuring he has nothing left to live for, anyway, having lost the love of his life. But when he discovers she’s still alive, Roy decides to fight back. To do it, he’ll need to defeat waves of skilled killers in order to get to their boss, the evil Colonel Vector.

Grillo and Gibson are joined by Naomi Watts, Annabelle Wallis, Ken Jeong, Will Sasso, Selina Lo, Meadow Williams, and Michelle Yeoh. This will be Carnahan’s first film since 2014’s Stretch. He’s probably best known for films such as Smokin’ Aces, The Grey, and The A-Team, although I still think Narc is his best. He also wrote the script to Bad Boys for Life.

In the works for nearly a decade, Boss Level has bounced around to different studios and faced numerous delays until Hulu picked it up last year for a release on March 5th.
