Zack Snyder has been doing a lot of talking about his ideal version of Justice League. While you might think it would be big, splashy, with colors literally popping off the screen and searing your eyeballs, Snyder’s vision for the perfect presentation is different…
“My ideal version of the movie is the black and white IMAX version of the movie. That, to me, is the most fan-centric, most pure, most Justice League experience. Because that’s how I lived with the movie for two years, in black and white…when I do the live-stream of the trailer, Steph and I colored a black and white version of the trailer. So the first version that I’m going to put out, and probably what I’m going to talk about on Tuesday, will be the black and white version of the trailer.”
It remains to be seen whether theaters will be safe enough to see Justice League in theaters, but we are getting that black & white version of the trailer right now. It’s basically the same trailer as before, but without color and with the Leonard Cohen song “Hallelujah” put back in.
Oh yeah, that was another thing that happened. The previous trailer got yanked over rights issues to the Cohen classic, but those problems have been settled. Enjoy.

Basically, this is identical to the DC FanDome trailer that was released last summer, and that’s okay because it kicked ass. WarnerMedia is putting some serious loot behind this, for not much tangible difference, but the hope is it’ll payoff in new subscribers and loyalty to HBO Max. It’s a lot to bank on a single four-part miniseries, but something tells me when this is all over, Snyder will continue to be part of the DCEU for the long haul.
