The cast of Bradley Cooper’s Ocean’s Eleven prequel is loading up with Oscar nominees. Joining Cooper, Margot Robbie, and Wagner Moura in the ensemble is Monica Barbaro, who earned a nomination for her performance as Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown.
Cooper will direct, star, and write the script. While plot details are officially under wraps, it’s expected that the film will leave the confines of Las Vegas and head to Europe for a 1960s caper involving the thieving parents of Danny Ocean, the character played by George Clooney in three Ocean’s movies, and Debbie Ocean, originally played by Sandra Bullock in Ocean’s Eight. The backdrop is the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.
Moura will play the film’s villain. Barbaro’s role is unclear.
On the horizon for Barbaro is the Purge-esque rom-com One Night Only, in which she and Callum Turner play singles who meet on the one day of the year that non-married folks can have sex. She also has a role in Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial, which just got picked up by NEON. She most recently was seen opposite Chris Hemsworth in Crime 101. [Deadline]
